Carnival of Animals Camille Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals and the Tale of Peter & the Wolf July 22, 2023 Performing Arts Center at the MV Regional High School 4 p.m. (Doors open at 3:30 p.m.) Performer/Storyteller David Gonzalez & Pianist Frederic Chiu take the stage at the Performing Arts Center, with Gonzalez unfolding the tale of Peter and the Wolf to the music of St. Saëns’ famed suite, transcribed for solo piano. Gonzalez has several awards and accolades to his credit, including a nomination for the Drama Desk Award for “Unique Theatrical Experience.” This performance is a joyful introduction to the possibilities of classical music for children but will be a musical treat for any age. It will also be a welcome return for MVCMS Family Programming. A suggested donation of $20 is appreciated but not required. Pre-registration for preferred seating will be available on this site until 12 noon on July 22. After that general seating will be available at the Performing Arts Center.
